Questions I Have Asked Myself

A personal project initiated by the artist during intermittent lockdowns, Questions I have asked Myself  journeys through a range of work reflecting on the process and provocations surrounding the image groupings found within. The front and back jacket has a question in the artist’s own writing located about the spine, encapsulating the content of the entire book. Her hand is covered in paint, signalling her uniquely direct and physically mediated practice. 

Simple and poetic, Questions utilises warm, textured stock change-outs to convey the personal and diaristic references, the artist always questioning and deconstructing her own meaning and process as a painter. These pages are intersperse a thoughtful selection of beautiful work by one of Aotearoa’s most distinguished painters.
